Circus Maximus
Circus Maximus is a progressive metal band from Oslo, Norway, formed in 2000. Built around the soaring melodic vocals of Michael Eriksen and the songwriting of the Haugen brothers — Mats on guitar and Truls on drums — the band fuses intricate, technical musicianship with strong, accessible melodies and lush, polished production. They broke through with their debut album The 1st Chapter (2005), widely praised in the prog-metal scene, then refined their sound across Isolate (2007), the ambitious Nine (2012) and Havoc (2016). With keyboardist Lasse Finbråten and bassist Glen Cato Møllen completing the line-up, Circus Maximus is regarded as one of Norway's leading melodic progressive metal acts, sharing stages and fan-bases with the likes of Dream Theater, Symphony X and Pagan's Mind.
