Sexto Sonar nace a finales del año 2004 en Maracay (Estado Aragua), conformado por Santiago Rodríguez (Guitarra), Guillermo Hernández (Guitarra), Juan Jiménez (Batería) y Héctor Rivas (Bajo), durante el año siguiente se dedican a ensayar sin descanso perfeccionando su estilo, enmarcado desde sus inicios en el rock progresivo y experimental, influenciados por bandas como Dream Theater, Liquid Tension, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Symphony X, Trasatlantic, Pink Floyd, Stratovarius entre otros.
A comienzos del 2006 se incorpora Ángel Martínez en los teclados, con él, comienzan a participar en distintos festivales y conciertos de la región, obteniendo excelentes elogios de parte de los críticos y ganando rápidamente una legión incondicional de fanáticos y seguidores, quienes apoyaron a la banda en cada una de sus presentaciones.
En junio de ese mismo año (2006) deciden incorporar un vocalista para así darle una mayor dimensión y proyección al trabajo musical de la banda, invitando a Amílcar Sánchez para actuar con sexto sonar en el 1ER FESTIVAL DE BANDAS UNITEC 2006 (festival competitivo) junto a agrupaciones de diferentes estilos como MATA RICA, DEVERON, entre otros, en el cual impactaron y sorprendieron tanto al publico como al jurado, resultando ganadores del mismo.
Ante la extraordinaria respuesta obtenida con la presencia de un vocalista en escena, sexto sonar decide realizar una serie de audiciones, recayendo la responsabilidad de estar frente a los micrófonos (de forma provisional) en Alexander Jara, con él graban dos temas “SOLEDAD OCULTA” y “ENFRENTANDO A LA REALIDAD”, los cuales comenzaron a sonar rápidamente en los distintos programas de radio dedicados a la difusión del rock en nuestro país, obteniendo una vez mas una respuesta extraordinaria de parte de la critica y los fans.
A finales de ese mismo año, el guitarrista Guillermo Hernández decide abandonar la banda por razones personales y Santiago Rodríguez asume la responsabilidad de ser el único guitarrista de la agrupación.
Durante el año 2007, comparten escenarios con bandas de reconocida trayectoria en la escena metalera nacional como CHAOS AVATHAR y TORRE DE MARFIL y gracias a la fuerza y el profesionalismo demostrado tanto en los shows en vivo como en los demos difundidos a través de los medios radiales, participan en una mini gira a nivel nacional denominada “Historico Tour”, junto a GAMALYEL (Punto Fijo, Estado Falcón), BULL HUNTER (Valencia, Estado Carabobo), DEVERON Maracay, Estado Aragua) y GASTONIA (Maracaibo, Estado Zulia). Luego de finalizada dicha gira, la agrupación decide prescindir de los servicios de Alexander Jara para dedicarse a la búsqueda de un vocalista definitivo que se adaptase por completo al estilo desarrollado por la agrupación.
En noviembre del 2007, sexto sonar contacta a Joad Manuel Jiménez vocalista de reconocida trayectoria a nivel nacional, (ARKANGEL, TORRE DE MARFIL, entre otros) iniciándose una serie de reuniones y algunos ensayos donde se plantea el relanzamiento de la agrupación a todo nivel y es durante esta etapa que el tecladista Ángel Martínez manifiesta su desinterés en el proyecto, ante lo cual la banda (de forma totalmente amistosa) decide prescindir de sus servicios ingresando a inicios del 2008 Yeffry Marval.
Se inicia así un nuevo ciclo para sexto sonar, el cual se caracteriza por la agresividad y la energía de las nuevas composiciones, JAMAS EL METAL PROGRESIVO FUE TAN PESADO, SEXTO SONAR (VERSION 2.0) 100% METAL NACIONAL
Sexto Sonar was born at the end of 2004 in Maracay (Aragua) Venezuela, conformed by Santiago Rodriguez (Guitars), Guillermo Hernández (Guitars), Juan Jiménez (Drums) and Héctor Rivas (Bass). During the following year these four were dedicated to perfecting their style, framed from their beginnings in the progressive and experimental rock, influenced by bands as Dream Theater, Liquid Tension, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Symphony X, Trasatlantic, Pink Floyd, Stratovarius among others.
At the beginning of 2006, Ángel Martinez join on the keyboards, with him, the band began to participate in different festivals and concerts from the region, obtaining excellent praises from the critics and quickly gaining an unconditional legion of fans and followers, who supported the band in each of their presentations.
In June of that same year (2006) they decide to incorporate vocals to give the band a greater dimension and projection to the musical work of it, inviting Amílcar Sanchez to perform with Sexto Sonar in “1ER FESTIVAL OF BANDAS UNITEC” (1st Bands Festivals UNITEC) 2006 (competitive festival) next to bands of different styles as Mata Rica, DÉVERON, among others, in which they amazed and surprised the audience as much as the jury, resulting winners of the festival.
With the extraordinary answer obtained from the presence of a vocalist on stage, Sexto Sonar decides to make a series of auditions, taking responsability to be in front of the microphones (provisional way) Alexander Jara. With him, the band recorded two songs: “Soledad Oculta” and “Enfrentando la realidad”, the last one begun quickly to sound on different radio shows dedicated to rock music in our country, obtaining an extraordinary feedback from the critics and fans.
At the end of that same year, the guitarist Guillermo Hernández decides to leave the band for personal reasons and Santiago Rodriguez assumes the responsibility of becoming the only guitarist of the band.
During year 2007, Sexto Sonar share stage with bands of recognized trajectory in the national metal scene such as CHAOS AVATHAR and TORRE DE MARFIL. Thanks to the strength and professionalism of their live shows and also the demo already played on national radio, the band participate on a national mini tour named “Historical Tour”, next to GAMALYEL (Punto Fijo, Falcón), BULL HUNTER (Valencia, Carabobo), DÉVERON (Maracay, Aragua) and GASTONIA (Maracaibo, Zulia). After finished the tour, the band decides to go on without the services of vocalist Alexander Jara, to fully concentrate on the search for the definitive vocals that adapted completely to the style developed by the Band.
In November 2007, Sexto Sonar contacts vocalist Joad Manuel Jiménez who owns a recognized national trajectory, (ARKANGEL, TORRE DE MARFIL, among others), beginning a series of meetings and rehearsals with the purpose of relaunching the band at all engines. Its during this stage where keyboardist Ángel Martinez shows his disinterest in the project, therefore the band (totally friendly way) decides to move on without his services, entering al beginning of 2008 Yeffry Marval in his substitution.
A new cycle of Sexto Sonar is born, one characterized by the aggressiveness and energy of new compositions, the PROGRESSIVE METAL WAS NEVER SO HEAVY, SEXTO SONAR (VERSION 2.0) 100% NATIONAL METAL
