Outstanding band of the United States, from Houston, Texas, to be exactly, they got many influences in their music, great progressive metal, this guys got a lot of talent; Entropy is composed by eight songs, long tracks, almost an hour of metal, it was released on 2002 and in 2004 they made an European release; The band is formed by the guitarist, Clint Wilson, he’s a distinguished player, smart, great solos and heavy harmonies, the vocalist, Don Duzan, he got a pretty good voice, very original, Chris Lucci play the drums, percussions and cymbals, very arrhythmic and progressive, Maurice Taylor is the bass player, complete, plays with feeling and also he’s dexterous, the keyboardist is a dream special guest, Derek Sherinian, everyone knows his work, there aren’t tablatures for the keys part, he’s a fusion/jazz musician, he improves in all the album, he’s an incredible musician, out of this planet, he left a hard work to Cristian van Schuerbeck, but he’ll make it.
The album starts with Entropy, since the beginning it’s perceived a new and fantastic prog metal, great instrumental intro, a rhythmic guitar, fast keys scales, changing drums, all this followed by the bass, powerful piece, after four minutes Don starts to sing, their prog metal is so good; The second track The jester, my preferred, the vocalist demonstrates his voice, captivating, the chorus are full of energy, the guitar distortion is heavy, one more time, many changes in the music rhythm, Clint plays very well, a guitar with a lot of feeling, Chris made great sounds with his drums, Maurice is so notorious in this part and Derek not so lucid, Clint’s solo, the songs ends more faster than the beginning; The third song, Haunted, Starts with the bass and pretty fast guitar, followed by constant drums, many changes in rhythm, then the clear voice appears, two voices recorded, Derek makes his work, Clint plays so well, more changes by all the musicians, good and long guitar solo, after this, musical part, Maurice plays very well, then Derek shows his ability with the keys and then Chris, one more time the guitar and Don’s voice is back, great song; The fourth piece is E –killer, guitar harmonies, strong drums with very good rhythm, then appears Don, I don’t like the chorus, but the music is in the pure style of All Too Human, Derek plays fantastic, Clint’s solo again, heavy harmonies and fast keys, the drums very progressive, very heavy; The fifth track: Arrhythmia, an instrumental piece, very progressive and heavy, great technique and velocity to play, they show of what they made, all the musicians excel, I can imagine ATH playing live this song, simply awesome, starts fast, then turn slow and then faster than everything they played, great solos, great coordination, that’s a talented prog metal band; The sixth theme is Seven deadly sins, another good song, great guitar riffs, loud distortion, changing drums, the bass is so perceptible, the sound of the guitar is good enough, Clint’s solo, ; The seventh track, White stones, wonderful vocals, the rhythm of this song is slower than the others, but is very progressive, very melodic, very heavy, the guitar distortion is so loud, extraordinary keys solo followed guitar solo, only the great makes great things, the band’s work it expressed in this song, amazing; the last piece, the eight song; Undone, a ballad, the best bands always includes a ballad and an instrumental song, ATH made their part, one more time a great voice by Don, fast hi hat by Chris, the bass is very sentimental, guitar harmonies, Derek appears, Clint solo, ends suddenly.
