band biography:
Overhead plays melodic and thematic progressive rock that varies from gentle ambient atmospheres via more traditional rock to heavier moments.
Overhead's first album Zumanthum was released in 2002 by Mellow Records and the band has also been featured in three compilation albums: Tuonen Tytär - A Tribute To Finnish Progressive (2000, Mellow Records), Kalevala - A Finnish Progressive Epic (2003, Musea) and Tuonen Tytär 2 (2008, Musea).
The second album Metaepitome was released in 2005 by Musea and it has been very well received around the world. Metaepitome has received great reviews and been the album of the month in various magazines, webzines and radios. It has also received airplay on many radio shows and stations world-wide.
Overhead has played live in rock-clubs and festivals around Europe such as the 9. Eclipsed Festival (Germany), ProgResiste Convention (Belgium), Prog'Sud (France), Slottsskogen Goes Progressive (Sweden), pROCKfest (Germany) and Montreux Prog Nights (Switzerland). These shows have been received fantastically and the band will tour in Europe again supporting the new album.
The awaited third album titled 'And We're Not Here After All' was released in September 2008 by Musea. The album is a very personal and introspective trip into the most basic of human instincts, the will to live. Needless to say, it has its share of ecstatic highs and desperate lows, all neatly wrapped up in a single albumful of atmospheric rock.
