Dominici O3 a trilogy - part three
8/10
I Listened to their second album for reference, i have to say there is a distinctive difference. I think Dominici really wants to keep the trilogy alive, by keeping the theme going. It places the albums in the timeline of the trilogy, very well.
Since this is the last part, things get a little darker sound-wise. The guitars are tuned down a bit(or other pick-ups, i don't know), and there are heavier passages that makes the theme stand out very well. Also very welcome are the delicate passages where the guitar is muted, with odd time play, giving it a contemporary sound.(a la andromeda, suncaged). Dominici's vocals carry the songs very well, nice melodic or rough edged with an attitude, he's the man.
All in all.. great musicianship.
I think there are just a few bands that can write songs that are intriguing, and still keep that real progressive edge. I think that's why Dominici keeps close quarters with Dreamtheater, they both are keeping the standards high.
I hope they move on to another project and release another great sounding album.
Great stuff, pick it up.
