Bay Area Rock Festival II San Francisco California 2008 was INCREDIBLE!
Friday, 04 July 2008 Hello Perfectprog readers!, first of all i want to thanks and congratulate David Hatchell the Promoter of this great festival Bay Area Rock Festival, thanks for making it possible!, this festival is becoming one of the best progressive metal festivals of the planet, this year, the second festival got the best progressive metal bands from all over the world, including LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT with Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudes and Tony Levin, it was a blast, totally awsome, also were invited the best progmetal bands like Enchant, Sun Caged, Dark Water, Zero Hour, Jeff Scott Soto and many others, 2 day festival this past jun 27 and 28, 2008.
The first day, we were very excited about seeing Enchant live, great performance, great band, a lot of feeling in their songs, Ted Leonard sang with the most intense feeling and all the band was symply awsome, then later Jeff Scott Soto played to close the night, it was ok but not what i spected.
Then Satuday arrive!! woow, this was the day!, first band: The great progmetal new band from sweden DARK WATER!, woow, they rock the house, amazing songs, first US apparience with their debut album!!
Next band: the name say it all, SUN CAGED! the best progressive metal of netherlands, first time in US also, THIS GUYS KICKED ASS BIG TIME! they perform for 1 hr with excelent songs from their latest album Artemisia and one song from their first album, also they played an Lemur Voice cover "intuition" one of the best songs of this extinted band witch Marcel Coenen played, this was amazing, Marcel Played like always like a guitar god, Paul sang incredible and all the music was simply great, you can check videos and photos in links at the end of this review. By the way, this guys are totally cool, we meet them and i want to thanks Marcel Coenen, Paul Adrian Villareal, Rene and Roel for the fun time we expended together!, you guys RULE!!
Then was time for ZERO HOUR, this guys as always played awsome, they present their new album the dark reciever, great album!, thanks to Tipton and Troy for all you guys are amazing! Here a pic of Jasun wearing our tshirt!
And if the wasnt enougt next band was: LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT! i dont have words to tell you how amazing they played, Mike Portnoy, Petrucci, Rudes and Levin just rock the house big time, this was the end of the Liquid tension tour so they even played better and more time, againg, thanks David Hatchell for putting out this incredible show man!
