Age of Nemesis -
Psychogeist (2006) – Review by Logan
Lee
Very promising hungarian band, but
in my humble opinion nowadays still have something to grow and to demonstrate.
The only two tracks I really enjoyed was Goddess Nemesis and Awaking Minds
which, by the way, are both instrumental. The vocals lacked of personality and
ability to gather one’s attention. All other ten tracks sound alike and I could
not find a bit of something new proposed by the band and it is quite similar to
a lot of other bands around the globe.
There are, nevertheless, two
positive things: First of all, the drummer (anyone who knows me can tell that
is not my favourite instrument) is quite talented and has a growing possibility
that might take their band on a upper level; and second, I have heard (for
curiosity) another of their album (2007 – Terra Incognita) which is a lot
better than this CD (maybe because they are already moving to the above
mentioned upper level).
Conclusion: you might want to hear
this CD after you’ve heard Terra Incognita to understand this band roots, but
don’t start by listening to this particular album.
