10/10
Third album from this perfect German band, six years have passed since Inside the Atmosphere; Six songs, 67 minutes, same line up, I like so much how they fit each instrument perfectly in the musical parts, it’s an awesome synchrony, like all the best albums, you need to analyzes it and to listens it numerous times, this one contains jazz and progressive musical parts that are excellent.
Zenith starts with an intro, Beginning, then follows Loss of Hope, great track, to commence keys orchestration, snare, bass and crushing guitar, then follows vocals, at the 3:45 minutes they make fine prog metal, fantastic key’s solo followed by a fantastic guitar solo; Generations, exceptional theme, it's at the pure AtmOsfear's style, lasts 12 minutes, extremely technique at 2:35, like fusion musicians, then appears a sentimental guitar solo accompanied by lucid bass; everything in this song is wonderful, keys, bass, drums and voice, incredible to hear Oliver sing with guttural voice; Another surprise from Zenith, Reawakening, a magnificent instrumental track, piano, guitar harmonies, progressive rhythms, orchestration, every instrument produces stunning sounds that creates a majestic music; Scum of Society, the fifth theme, great drums accompanied by the other instruments, at the 5:55 listen the musical break, they made it once again, drums excels, arrhythmic guitar chords, psycho keyboards, indescribable!!!; The last song, a truly masterpiece, Spiral of Pain, a 23 minutes length, they never made a song that lasts that time, and isn’t about the length or time, it’s about the music’s quality, all the song’s passages are perfect, keys orchestration intro, then, a kind of harp appears, followed by piano, next, great vocals, and after that, heavy guitar riffs blended with bass and drums, wow! Listen very carefully at the 4:20 minutes, maestros! The vocals are amazing, just listen it at the 18 minutes, top song without a doubt; Finally, at the minute 24 appears an acoustic version from Generations, closing another awesome chapter from Atmosfear.
Amply recommended, this album is the best from 2009.
